Heart Evangelista recalls ‘hard route’ to get invite to fashion week

As she went back in action for this year’s Paris Fashion Week, Heart Evangelista recalled her inspiring journey in fashion as she described what she went through as “the hard route,” initially taking a seat as a member of the media before becoming a key opinion leader or fashion influencer.
In the new episode of her vlog, the fashion influencer stressed that she entered the world of fashion out of her love for creativity.
“I entered fashion week, and it wasn’t a job. It was passion,” she remarked.
The Kapuso actress revealed that she initially did not go to fashion weeks as an influencer but started attending runway shows as a member of the press.
“I really went through the hard route,” she stressed. “Basically, I feel guilty for taking the seat that was allotted for somebody else, like the press.”
Due to her dedication and hard work, Evangelista eventually climbed the ladder by building her portfolio from scratch.
“I truly want [the brands] to know who I am, and I don’t want to take anybody’s seat. This is the golden rule,” she said.
“I don’t mind being second or third [choice], as long as I’m invited as myself and I have a good relationship with the brand,” added the actress.
In December 2023, the socialite revealed that she once got kicked out of a show during one of the fashion weeks she attended.
At the time, Evangelista shared that she now has three agents to help her oversee the whole process so she won’t get dropped along the way by certain PRs who tend to promise her a seat.
“I’m also glad that it kind of pushed me to change things in a way to the next step, 10 steps ahead. I fixed a lot of corporate stuff and legal stuff. I got all my cards set perfectly, and now it’s okay; it’s going to be smoother,” she said.
Amid the alleged sabotage, shadow ban, and black propaganda in her fashion week videos, Evangelista has once again affirmed that her experiences in the global arena made her a “tough cookie.”
“Take my video, put it out, whatever you want to dissect, and how you want to present me to the world. Black propaganda, you could do whatever; set my house on fire, but you will not break me again,” the actress said at the time.
