Todd Keirstead, a CPGA golf professional, did not want to end up with PGA professional golfer Stewart Cink’s “awful” tan lines so, for years, he played golf without wearing a hat and only occasionally used sunscreen. Then one day a dermatologist told him that a small spot (not even the size of a dimple on a golf ball, according to Keirstead) on the tip of his nose was cancer.

For the rest of the story, take a look at Score magazine’s current print issue (the one with Steph Curry on the front cover). The article can also be found on the magazine’s website: scoregolf.com.

Miles Russell update

Miles Russell, the 15-year-old golfer who earlier this year was the youngest player to make the cut at a Korn Ferry Tour event, did not make the cut at the PGA’s Rocket Mortgage Classic tour event, which was held at the Detroit Golf Club June 27-30. Russell had an even par total of 144 after 36 holes. Not bad for a 15-year-old who is still too young to drive a car.
