GOAT Serena Williams Turns Modest as She Unveils Honest Conversation With Olympia About Her Tennis Achievements

Serena Williams wants to keep her stardom outside of her house! Reason? She dislikes being “too presumptuous” about her life’s pivotal moments.  As a very protective mother, Williams recently showcased an interesting side of her personality while speaking about how she wants her kids to deal with her fame.

In an interview with the New York Times, Serena Williams reveals an interesting side of her personality while speaking about her motherhood. She was asked by the interviewer whether she wanted her daughters to have a “particular understanding” about what she “accomplished in tennis.” In her response, she seemed very humble but honest through one of the incidents with Olympia. “Olympia told me the other day, ‘You’re famous.’ And I’m like: ‘Oh, not really. I’m just your mom.’ So I don’t know. I just feel like when the time comes — and, honestly, when it’s settled in for me too — I’ll definitely have that conversation with them,”- said the world’s former number-one WTA star.

However, her concluding statement expressed the humbleness that made her one of tennis’s living legends. “The important, you know, the … I don’t want to be too presumptuous, but the impact I have had on sport and beyond”- she said.

Previously, in an interview with People.com, Williams revealed that as Olympia is growing up, her mommy has started to “open up to her a little bit more” about details of her professional tennis career and stardom with her. “I told her the other day that she actually was in my belly when I won a big tournament, and she was surprised,”- Williams said. This 23-time Grand Slam winner believes that with more years, Olympia is learning to “understand things more, whereas she didn’t really understand before.”

People.com further focused on Williams’s statements to conclude that Olympia might understand somehow that her mother is not an ordinary person but one of the names that people swear by in tennis. In this interview, Williams further revealed how Olympia reacted to her stardom. “I said, ‘You know how mommy is a little famous?’ She’s like, ‘No, no, no, you’re really, really, really…’ And I’m just like, ‘Oh my god, no, no, no.’ She was like, ‘No, yes you are. You’re a great tennis player.’”

This 23-time Grand Slam champion lives in a quiet area in Los Angeles rather than in its heart than many famous people. She also does normal household chores like any normal mother. However, Olympia being the genius kid she is, has already understood that her mother has inspired many through her talent and sheer brilliance. In fact, Williams also spoke about channeling this kindness into her two daughters by teaching them to be humble and loving.

Serena Williams wishes to teach her daughters that “being kind and humble is the ultimate beauty”

A year after Olympia’s birth, this Olympic gold-medalist WTA star delved deeper into her main advice to Olympia, where kindness took a great place aligning with the concept of beauty. “When I tell her she’s beautiful, I want to teach her that she’s beautiful from the inside. Giving is beauty. Being kind and humble is the ultimate beauty,”- said Olympia’s famous mommy.

Olympia as usual inherited this modesty from her mother. In 2019, Williams played an exhibition match against her elder sister Venus Williams in Abu Dhabi and little Olympia was spotted cheering for both her mother and her aunt. In her press conference Williams said- “That’s a classy baby, you know, she applauds both Mommy and my opponent who happened to be her auntie,”

Nevertheless, Serena Williams’s modesty towards Olympia and Adira is inspiring for many mothers out there. Despite being so famous in her field, Williams chose to teach her daughters kindness and empathy towards people. This proves why fans still remember her as their icon two years after her retirement.
