Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann readies his squad for EURO 2024

Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann is doing everything he can to get his squad prepared for EURO 2024. The European giants have been snakebit in its last few international tournaments, including two group stage exits at the Men’s World Cup. Why that happened and how to fix it has been the subject of much discussion and debate — but now it is time to put all that talk into action.

Sport Bild has the scoop for how the former Bayern Munich manager is approaching the tournament — as captured via @iMiaSanMia:

Julian Nagelsmann gave his players a speech on Monday to get everyone in the mood for the Euros. The coach told the players clearly: ‘We want to become European champions’ – Nagelsmann has created clear structures within the team by holding individual discussions with the players about their roles. Everyone accepts their role without complaining. In addition to training, the focus in the first few days was on growing together as a team. On Tuesday afternoon there was a barbecue with players, families and staff. Nagelsmann wants the team spirit to flourish very early on in order to have a successful tournament

We have seen all this before: team-building exercises, big speeches, individual meetings. But lately the results have just not come for Germany. Will EURO 2024 be the moment that changes? Or will Nagelsmann’s efforts be the flying geese video of next year?
