Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann “happy” after 0-0 draw with Ukraine

Former Bayern Munich coach and current German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann was pleased with his team’s effort during Germany’s 0-0 draw with Ukraine.

“I think we played a good game. Of course we wanted and were determined to win. We had a very good first 20 minutes with a big chance for Ilkay. We did very well after the break and had six to seven chances to score. Maxi Beier did really well and had three chances alone. Of course there are still things we have to do better, like being more aggressive and having more players in the box. But generally speaking, I’m happy especially with the substitutes who didn’t need time and got well in the game,” Nagelsmann told Das Erste (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Nagelsmann might have to higher his standards a bit. While a first friendly is alway touch-and-go, Germany clearly has a long way to go if it wants to make a big splash at the EURO 2024 tourney this summer.
