Samsung’s Galaxy Watch series devices are undoubtedly some of the best WearOS-powered smartwatches you can buy right now. The Galaxy Watch usually consists of two models, but several tipsters have claimed that the much-rumoured Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra will take on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. From a new frame to upgraded hardware, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming WearOS-powered smartwatch.

Last month, the known tipster OnLeaks, in collaboration with Smartprix, suggested the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra will feature a squarish outer frame with a circular display, which may not be as squarish as the Apple Watch Ultra. The leaked renders also hinted at a third circular button sandwiched between the two rectangle buttons.

While the outer frame will be larger than any of the existing Galaxy Watch models, the display is said to measure 1.5 inches in diameter, same as the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

An interesting change is the new watch band mechanism, with two button-like elements at top and bottom. This might allow users to easily attach and detach bands like on the Apple Watch Ultra and the Google Pixel Watch.

A new report by Android Headlines claims that like the Apple Watch Ultra, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra may be made of titanium and offer 10ATM water resistance and MIL-STD-810H certification. However, Samsung might use the same 590mAh battery that powers the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Festive offer

On the hardware front, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra is said to pack the same 3nm processor found on the Galaxy Watch 6 series while bumping up the peak brightness to 3,000 nits, at par with the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The report also suggests that Samsung will be ditching the Bluetooth-only variant and instead opt for a Bluetooth + LTE version.

The tech giant also announced that the upcoming smartwatches will have several new AI powered features. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 7 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event rumoured to take place in Paris on July 10.
