GAA announce details of All-Ireland football semi-final draw – with Dublin and Kerry possibly kept apart

Graham O’Sullivan of Kerry is tackled by James McCarthy in last year’s final

The draw for the semi-finals of the All-Ireland senior football championship, if required, will take place on the Sunday Game Live directly after the quarter-final meeting of Kerry and Derry.

The draw will seek to avoid of repeat pairings where possible from the earlier stages of the championship.

GAA PREVIEW

The first two quarter-finals take place tomorrow with Armagh facing Roscommon at 4.0, followed by the meeting of All-Ireland champions Dublin and Galway at 6.15.

On Sunday, Kerry and Derry meet in a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland semi-final classic, with a 3.15 throw-in, preceded by Donegal’s clash with Louth at 1.15.

If the four favourites – Armagh, Dublin, Kerry and Donegal – win this weekend, the semi-final draw rules would see Dublin and Kerry unable to play each other in the last four as the two Ulster sides have already played so would not be allowed have a rematch.

The semi-finals are scheduled to take place two weeks after the quarter-finals.
