DOUBLE: Blue Day and Red Pixie

Blue Day struck gold for the first time on his seasonal bow and can double his tally in the Fitzdares Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap at Windsor.

Three runs as a juvenile did not yield a win but he was beaten no further than three and a quarter lengths in finishing fourth twice and second once, with a clutch of winners emerging from the also-rans on all three occasions, including subsequent Group Two-placed Mister Sketch.

Given his rock-solid form, it was no real surprise to see Blue Day sent off a 6-5 favourite on his return at Southwell in April and he made short work of his rivals on handicap debut.

Given an initial mark of 77, he ran out a cosy length-and-a-half winner, with plenty appearing to be left in the locker, which is particularly important as he is rated 7lb higher now.

Red Pixie let down favourite-backers last time but should be given chance to redeem herself in the Download The Fitzdares App Now Fillies’ Novice Stakes.

Sir Michael Stoute sent her to Kempton back in November for a first taste of racecourse action and she ran well enough to be beaten a length and a half in fourth place after a less than perfect start.

She was then sent off the 5-2 market leader at Yarmouth at the end of April but had to settle for third, beaten just over a length by the well-related newcomer Run Away.

The second-placed Cat Ninja, who has since come out and won, collared her late on for the minor honours over seven furlongs, so it perhaps makes sense to move back to six here.

Redondo is taken to put in another bold showing in the Follow @RacingTV On Instagram Handicap at Ayr.

The three-year-old made good progress during a stint on the all-weather after switching to Daragh Bourke and transferred that form to turf with a fine Hamilton triumph.

Despite a tardy start, he was always travelling strongly that day and pulled nicely clear of market leader Persian Phoenix after hitting the front at the furlong pole.

Mutamanni looks a winner in waiting ahead of the Get The Inside Track With raceday-ready.com Maiden Stakes at Brighton.

He went down by a short head at Ayr on his second start and a repeat of that effort should be good enough.

Red Cloud made an encouraging seasonal reappearance when staying on to finish second over seven furlongs after still showing signs of greenness early on.

Gary and Josh Moore’s charge remains a work in progress but is clearly going the right way and should relish stepping up to a mile for the Weatherbys Epassport Handicap.

Wintercrack will appreciate any rain ahead of the Vickers.Bet Handicap at Wetherby.

A daughter of 1000 Guineas winner Speciosa, Wintercrack relishes cut and has been in decent heart this spring.
