Former NFL GM Doesn’t Hold Back On Thoughts About Packers’ Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers have evidently done it again, as Jordan Love seems to be the next great quarterback. The Packers have their own system for developing quarterbacks.

When Green Bay selected Aaron Rodgers in the first round in 2005, they had him sit behind Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre for three seasons before taking over as the starter.

The Packers continued this system, drafting Jordan Love in the first round in 2020 and having him sit three seasons behind Rodgers.

This developmental strategy helped Love have an impressive season in his first year as a starter.

Love got off to a rough start but finished the season strong, as the 9-8 Packers made it to the playoffs. Love broke out in the playoffs, leading to an upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round.

Green Bay nearly upset the NFC favorite San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round but fell short.

Still, it was an impressive season for Love and the Packers, who had the youngest roster in the NFL. Love has established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
