The New York Mets have released veteran outfielder Trayce Thompson from their Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse.

Thompson, 33, played briefly for Triple-A Toledo in 2022 before the Tigers traded him to the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations.

After being dealt to the Dodgers, Thompson went on a tear. Between June 21, 2022, and April 2, 2023, Thompson hit .278 with 16 home runs and 47 RBIs in 243 plate appearances.

He eventually cooled off and was dealt to the Chicago White Sox, where he finished the 2023 season and became a free agent.

He signed a minor-league deal with the Mets during the offseason.

Trayce’s brother is longtime NBA star Klay Thompson, who recently signed with the Dallas Mavericks after an illustrious 13-year tenure with the Golden State Warriors.

If Trayce Thompson signs with a new team, it will be the 11th organization of his career.
