The return of ferry services to Argentia is being welcomed by local businesses in the region who rely on the summer tourism season.
One such operation is a food truck situated directly outside of the ferry terminal.
The Wiener Wagon is operated by Ray Griffiths and his son Jacob.
The elder Griffiths says normally they would see between 150 to 200 customers per day at the site.
However, delays in getting the Ala’suinu on the run had a significant impact on their business, and at one point they thought this summer would be a write-off.
With the ferry now making runs between this province and Nova Scotia Griffiths is hopeful the season can be salvaged.
He says they’ll make do with what they get. That said, he notes their revenue is down 25 to 30 percent from last year.
