EXCLUSIVE: Acne Studios Is Partnering With Spotify to Showcase Musical Talent

TALENT SCOUT: Acne Studios is teaming up with streaming platform Spotify to showcase musical talent. The Swedish label hopes the collaboration will expand its Acne People program, through which it partners with and showcases creatives in a variety of areas. The project will be revealed Wednesday with a giant outdoor advertising display at cultural hub The Reef in Los Angeles.

Together, the partners aim to curate a roster of musical creatives, both globally renowned and up-and-coming, through activations at key moments in the fashion calendar.

The first such collaboration will take place for fall 2024 as part of the brand’s main campaign for the season, to be revealed in September.

The initiative is “in keeping with the house’s multidisciplinary ethos,” Acne Studios stated.

Through the Acne People initiative, which is showcased on the house’s Instagram page, the label spotlights artists it says align with its values.

In the past, it has partnered with Spanish singer and musician Rosalía; American singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek; Swedish rapper, singer and producer Bladee; Haitian-Canadian music producer, rapper, singer and DJ Kaytranada; U.S.-based DJ, singer and producer Yaeji, and most recently the members of K-pop girl band ILLIT, who fronted the label’s spring 2024 ad campaign.

Rosalía, for instance, has worn custom Acne Studios designs on tour and at Coachella.

Last September, it partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America to create a playlist for New York Fashion Week.
