Drew McIntyre ‘quits’ WWE in Raw angle
Drew McIntyre has “quit” WWE in an angle.
The former WWE Champion “walked out” of the company on Monday’s Raw, then followed up by deactivating his social media profiles.
After CM Punk cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship in a match at Saturday’s Clash at the Castle event in Scotland, McIntyre appeared on Monday’s Raw to cut a promo.
McIntyre briefly mentioned Punk, which elicited a reaction from the crowd. McIntyre then uttered ““I can’t do this anymore. Screw this company. I quit,” before walking out of the ring. Authority figure Adam Pearce tried to stop McIntyre from exiting, but McIntyre pushed past him.
The angle continued with a brief backstage exchange between McIntyre and WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque where the two exchanged words.
McIntyre has since deactivated his social media profiles as pointed out by Michael Cole on Raw commentary.
CM Punk is set to appear on Friday’s SmackDown episode in Chicago to continue his months-long feud with McIntyre. Punk tore his triceps in the 2024 Royal Rumble match while wrestling McIntyre in January, then Punk cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 by laying McIntyre out, allowing Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, then again cost him the World title at Clash at the Castle by interceding in McIntyre’s match against Priest by acting as a referee.
