Dhruv Kapoor Opened an Innocent Fashion-Forward Playhouse for SS25

New Delhi designer Dhruv Kapoor returned to Milan Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2025. The designer opened his own inflatable playhouse, welcoming guests — including the likes of James Blake and Lily Rutherford — into a red-carpeted space drowned in tonal fluorescent lighting.

An inflatable bear was slouched at the center, hinting at the playful collection that would soon arrive. Thumping beats began the show, guiding us into a fashion-forward wonderland that pulled us into its grasp. SS25 saw Kapoor grow into himself with a sense of maturity, maintaining his free-spirited identity while continuing to celebrate his South Asian identity. The collection drew from childhood nostalgia, projecting a sense of innocence with captivating purity and youthful details.

The collection was drenched in toned-down prints and patterns that have become his signature, opening with two-piece sets layered with simplistic trench coats. Casual suiting was invigorated with abstract florals while washed denim was upgraded with Dhruv Kapoor‘s SS25 mascot. Darring territory emerged on crinkled leather vests and coordinating bucket hats, followed by punctured denim and romantic “WE WERE LOVERS IN A PAST LIFE” tees. The brand’s popular printed shirts were alive and well, upgraded with sequinned embellishments that were the stars of the show.
