Saturday Update

WWE

  • The front page of WWE.com was “taken over” today with the latest tease for the debut of Uncle Howdy’s faction. A message was posted warning that a massacre is coming. The URL for the message, “71enuj,” looks to be hinting at a June 17 debut. That date is a Monday.
  • The full message can be read below:
    • hello.
    • I’d like to tell you a story.
    • A story about value.
    • We often equate value with utilization.
    • That is not the case.
    • If a piece of currency is crumpled, ignored, and tossed to the side, does it lose its value?
    • Of course not.
    • It is simply in the hands of the ignorant.
    • We often devalue ourselves as a result of the ignorance of those around us.
    • Their words define us.
    • I have been guilty of this myself.
    • I have let the expectations of others determine my self worth.
    • But once I realized my calling, the words of the naysayers began to fall on deaf ears.
    • I am nobody.
    • I am all of us.
    • When you free yourself from the preconceived ideas of others…from the LIES…you become
    • liberated.
    • I accepted my calling. Only then was I able to set the others free.
    • We followed the Words of the Red and now we see.
    • I offer you one last chance at redemption.
    • It doesn’t have to be this way.
    • The cave can no longer exist.
    • We are going to burn it to the ground.
    • A massacre is coming.
    • 168 / 197
  • On Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry praised the “unbelievable job” AJ Styles did in his fake retirement on SmackDown last night. The segment, which ended with Styles attacking Cody Rhodes, took inspiration from Henry’s fake retirement from 2013.
  • Sonya Deville told Insight with Chris Van Vliet that she wants to have another match against Asuka:
    • Asuka is one of my favorite opponents. We would have awesome matches down in NXT seven years ago, eight years ago on live events and road loops. And it was my favorite match to this day, but we never got an angle on TV. And then it would be like, I go to Raw – she goes to SmackDown. She goes to SmackDown – I go to Raw. And we just keep playing tag and not catching each other. So I was like, if I could paint the perfect picture, I would love to have like a two-three [segment] match with Asuka and just mess each other up.
  • The NBA shared videos of Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill, and Grayson Waller & Austin Theory with the Larry O’Brien championship trophy.
  • DIY, Indi Hartwell, and Legado Del Fantasma appeared on The SmackDown LowDown.
