DIVISION ONE

Newport 1st XI (24) 241-9 Chirk 1st XI (5) 136-10

Not the best of days for Chirk as they slumped to a heavy defeat at Audley Avenue.

Shropshire-based Newport won the toss and batted, rattling up 241-9 off 45 overs, Baadal Parag their main spark with 100 exactly.

For the visitors, Liam Walker took 3-46, Luke Gardner 3-73 and Oliver Gough 2-52.

In reply, Chirk were dismissed for 136, Wynn Jones 33, James Carter 20, Thomas Newnes 5-42 and Ed Parton 3-23 for the winning hosts.

DIVISION SEVEN

Chirk 2nd XI (20) 235-8 Quayside 1st XI (6) 137-10

Leaders Chirk seconds made it four wins in a row with a convincing success over visitors Quayside.

Put into bat, the North Wales hosts amassed 235-8 off 40 overs, Connor Bailey top-scoring with 58, skipper Dale Randall posting 51 and fellow opener Chris Hughes 37.

Hughes then snared 3-15 with the ball and Harry Lunt collected 3-29 as Quayside were sent packing for 137.

Points went 20-6 in Chirk seconds’ favour.
