David Brazil’s name will be on the ballot for the Conservatives in the next federal election.
Brazil became the official candidate for St. John’s East after nominations closed over the weekend.
The former PC leader, who spent decades serving as an MHA, launched his federal run last month.
His re-entry into the political realm comes after a short hiatus to focus on his health. Brazil told reporters last month that he was in excellent shape and eager to re-enter politics.
The riding, currently held by Liberal MP Joanne Thompson, has not been represented by the Tories since 2008.
