Celine Dion Reaches A New Career Peak On A Billboard Chart

Celine Dion’s singing career may be over. Several years ago, the superstar opened up about her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome, which has apparently stopped her from being able to perform like she used to. What the future holds for the Grammy winner isn’t clear, but despite her health issues, she’s back on the charts with a brand new album.

The Canadian powerhouse vocalist debuts her new compilation I Am: Celine Dion on this week’s Soundtracks chart. Billboard publishes the tally each frame to show which albums that soundtrack visual projects are the most-consumed in the country.

I Am: Celine Dion launches at No. 15 on this week’s Soundtracks chart. That’s a new high point on that specific list for the singer, and it marks just her second trip to the list.

Dion’s only other placement on the Soundtracks ranking was with her Love Again album. That set, which accompanied the movie of the same name, peaked at No. 20. The title only managed one turn on the roster, and it was just last year that she appeared on the roster for the first time.

Love Again featured several new songs by Dion in what was marketed as perhaps her final release, due to her illness. The movie also co-starred the vocalist, as she was apparently eager to add to her impressive resume by becoming an actor as well as a singer.

I Am: Celine Dion soundtracks the documentary of the same name. The movie hit Amazon Prime Video in late June, and it shows the singer’s tough journey through her disease, as well as the toll it’s taken on her career. The film was highly publicized, so it’s not shocking that the soundtrack managed to place on a Billboard chart…if only one.

Dion manages the only debut on this week’s Soundtracks chart. Just one other title that wasn’t present on the roster last frame manages to return, mixing things up a little bit. The album that was attached to the movie The Dirt, the Mötley Crüe biopic, reappears at No. 11.
