BOSTON — The Celtics are three wins away from a historic 18th NBA championship. Game 2 of the NBA Finals is in Boston, and several stars showed out with the home team on the doorstep of history.

With the Celtics looking to follow up a dominant performance to open the series, Hall-of-Famer Paul Pierce let it be known that he would be in attendance for Game 2. A man of his word, Pierce showed up ahead of tip-off and was met by a loud applause from the same fans he once electrified as a player.

Of course, the list of stars didn’t end with Pierce. From some of the biggest names in New England sports to superstars in the entertainment world, there was plenty of star power in the crowd at TD Garden Sunday.

Here’s a list of notable names in attendance, including Bill Belichick and Travis Scott.

Did Shaquille O’Neal play for the Celtics?

O’Neal spent the final season of his 19-year NBA career with the Celtics.

He’s not listed as a Celtics alumnus, but O’Neal played a total of 39 games in Celtic green during the 2010-11 season. O’Neal started 36 of the 37 regular season games he appeared in, posting averages of 9.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game.

O’Neal, who turned 39 during that season, struggled to stay on the floor due to injury and was limited to just two playoff games. He retired following the 2010-11 campaign.
