From indulging in sugary goodness like donuts and ice cream to a relaxing night under the stars listening to the symphony orchestra by candlelight, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in downtown Oakville this summer.
Fitness, food, and music lovers will have no shortage of downtown events to keep them entertained and relaxed all while taking in the beautiful, sunny, warm summer weather.
Highlighting this summer’s list of events and pop-ups are two Candlelit Concerts with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra this August.
The first of two “enchanting” evenings will be held August 10 at Lakeside Park. Members of the orchestra will then return for another special night on August 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Towne Square.
All are invited to grab a blanket and listen to the sounds of the symphony performing XYZ.
“Both events are in collaboration with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra and promise to be a magical atmosphere under the stars,” said Downtown Oakville.

Summer Sweat Outdoor Fitness Series:
“Rejuvenate” both your body and mind every Saturday morning in June and July with this energetic fitness series taking place in Towne Square.
Done in partnership with Hot Yoga & Pilates, FlySpin and SPINCO, local fitness studios and experts head up the classes which offer a blend of exercises.
Classes are already open for pre-registration.
National Donut Day Celebration
There’s something real sweet going on this Saturday (June 7) in the Towne Square.
Celebrate all that sugary goodness with National Donut Day. The first 500 attendees at the event, which begins at 3 p.m., will get to sample free mini donuts courtesy of Maverick’s Donuts.
Shop the Street
Who doesn’t love to shop and who especially doesn’t love a good deal on items.
This sidewalk sale runs June 13 to June 16 and downtown Oakville merchants will offering “incredible” deals along the sidewalk in front of the stores and inside.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to snag some great finds and enjoy the beautiful weather,” said Downtown Oakville.
FRESH Market
Looking to find those unique items and support local businesses, then the Fresh Market on George Street may be the place to be this summer.
Beginning June 9 and continuing every second Sunday through September, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., local residents can look through an assortment of handcrafted goods, plants, produce and treats.
Silent Disco: Summer Solstice Edition
From Saturday Night Fever to Disco Duck, disco music dominated the dance floors in the late 1970s and now residents can get those dancing shoes back on and dance into the longest day of the year at Downtown Oakville’s Summer Solstice Edition Silent Disco on June 22.
The “evening of music and fun runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Towne Square and promises to be a night to remember.
Silent Meditation
Get set for an afternoon of “peace and mindfulness” at this silent mediation even set for June 23 in Town Square at 1 p.m. Done in partnership with Saje, this 45-minute session uses noise-canceling headphones will help you reconnect and relax.
All participants will also receive a special gift from Saje.
Pop Up Ice Cream Shop
Nothing like a cool treat on a hot day and even better when it’s free.
Join in the celebration of International Ice Cream Day at the Towne Square on July 21. The first 500 people who stop by the pop-up ice cream shop will get a free gelato from Gelato Di Carlotta.
All the fun begins at 12 noon.
Retro Roller Jam
Get ready to roll back in time. Lace up the old skates and roll along Navy Street to the beats from the live DJ on August 1, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Your tickets include skate rentals and safety grab your tickets for this throwback event.
Country Day Downtown
If you love country music, the “heart” of downtown Oakville will be the place to be on August 17.
Country music lovers are encouraged to make their way to Towne Square to enjoy live country music and even pick up some new steps with line dance instruction courtesy of Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
TD Summer Music Series
Soak up the sun and take in the sounds of summer with the TD Summer Music Series being held every Saturday and Sunday in July and August.
Held in the Towne Square, the free series features live performances from 15 local musicians from 2 to 6 p.m.
