Cairo Consort Brings Record 0K at F-T June Digital

The Fasig-Tipton June Digital Sale closed June 4 with 60 horses sold for $2,247,200. The catalog featured 2-year-olds, horses of racing age, breeding stock, and yearlings.

Graded stakes winner Cairo Consort  (Hip 26) topped the sale and established a Digital Sale record when sold for $820,000 to Town and Country Racing from the consignment of Highgate Sales, agent. A 4-year-old daughter of Cairo Prince  , Cairo Consort, trained by Todd Pletcher, is a stakes winner at 2, 3, and 4. At 2, she won the Catch A Glimpse Stakes and placed in both the Natalma Stakes (G1T) and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T) on her way to Sovereign Award champion 2-year-old filly honors. Last year at 3, Cairo Consort captured the Sweetest Chant Stakes (G3T) and Ginger Brew Stakes. This year at 4, Cairo Consort has added the Sand Springs Stakes at Gulfstream Park to her list of accomplishments. To date, Cairo Consort has a record of 5-2-4 from 16 starts and bankroll of $651,692.

“We are very excited about the results for racehorses, topped by graded stakes winner and multiple grade 1 performer Cairo Consort,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton’s director of digital sales. “It’s gratifying to get such a positive result on such a nice filly, for the sellers and the buyer. We learned it’s a bit more difficult to sell broodmares this late in the spring, but the action on the racehorses and yearlings offered was consistent with previous sales. We’re very pleased with those results.”

At the end of active bidding, 60 horses had sold for $2,247,200, good for an average of $37,453. The $820,000 sale topper was a record on the platform.
