Brandon Aiyuk’s contract negotiation gets major update as 49ers insider reveals details

The San Francisco 49ers can not afford to lose any key player in the upcoming weeks, especially if they are trying to get back to a Super Bowl. Even if it seems they will maintain the core of their group, there is still something to address before the start of the season, maybe even before training camp.

Brandon Aiyuk is a very productive player and alongside Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, the threat they generate is one to be careful in the NFC West and the rest of he conference, but let’s not forget that in order be threating on the field a player needs to be with the team and as of now, Aiyuk is a no-show at minicamp.

This situation has to do with the lack of agreement between the team and the wide out, and also the fact that rumors of him being traded were in the air as well. General manager John Lynch addressed that situation a few weeks ago.

“We’re actively chatting with Brandon, trying to figure something out. We have a good track record working with kids that we want to accomplish something with, and it takes two parts. So can we do it? We will see,” adding that Brandon will not be traded.

Jefferson signed a four-year, $140 million extension that makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback player in the NFL at $35 million per season, that sets that bar high for any other wide receiver that wants a secure deal, and Aiyuk has not gotten his.
