Big city, little opportunity: Toronto TikTokers are sharing their unsuccessful job hunt experiences  – NOW Toronto

Qualified but not chosen has been a rampant theme for a lot of postgraduates applying for jobs nowadays.

Many young people are finding it difficult to navigate the job market, where there doesn’t seem to be any openings in sight, and are turning to the internet for advice.

The rate of people who were working part-time involuntarily because they couldn’t find full-time jobs or because of poor economic conditions was up 18.2 per cent in May, compared to 15.4 per cent a year earlier.

In the grand scheme of things, these rates seem relatively low. However, these statistics don’t outline the very real emotional turmoil and frustrations that many Torontonians under 30 are facing from the inability to find work.

Currently, the Government of Ontario has over 150 job postings on its site, ranging from student to executive level in a variety of industries.
