Beverley each-way racing tip: Huge drop in class can help Carvalhal defy outsider odds:
16:47 Beverley: Racing TV Extra on racingtv.com Handicap (1 mile 2 furlongs)
The three market leaders (Little Venice, Jez Bomb and Lady Of Time) are covered by little more than a single betting point at the time of writing, and while it would be easy to make a case for all of them, it’s difficult to get excited about any of them at such odds.

The bookies would have us believe that will be the 1-2-3, but we’re happy to look elsewhere for more attractive each-way prospects, and with many bookies offering four places for this 12-runner handicap, there’s certainly some value to be found further down the betting.
Tipstrr’s each-way specialists have touched on a few here, including Angelica Catalani and Makuri, but the most intriguing of all is Carvalhal, who might just be lurking under the bookies radar at hefty odds here.
Taking his figures at face value, Michael Dods’ light-trained maiden has done little to merit strong support, and indeed finished last of 10 when visored for the first time in a 12-furlong handicap at Doncaster at the end of May.
Suggested best bet: Carvalhal each-way in the 16:47 at Beverley
It’s worth noting, however, that he was racing in 0-68 company that day, with six of his rivals rated between 66 and 70, and he is a full nine pounds above the highest-ranked starter in this lowly 0-55 affair.
He also carries five pounds less here, allowing this huge drop in class, which, when coupled with this shorter 10-furlong trip and the booking of Connor Beasley, might just indicate that connections have been biding their time to produce him for a handicap of this standing.
