Belmont weather: Rain is in the forecast for Friday, Saturday

It looks like the Belmont Stakes racing festival at Saratoga could be a rainy one.
The track will offer 14 graded stakes, beginning Thursday and culminating with the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. The third leg of the Triple Crown was moved to upstate New York because of construction at Belmont Park.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for showers and possibly a thunderstorm on Thursday, with a high near 76. There is an 80 percent chance of precipitation.
Showers also are likely on Friday, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. EDT.The Otherwise, it will be partly sunny with a high near 77. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Saturday looks much the same, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation but otherwise partly sunny with a high near 77. Showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m.
The forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of precipitation on Sunday, with a high near 74.
