Belmont Stakes Picks: Top Horse Racing Betting Picks for the Belmont Stakes on DK Horse

Saturday is a historical day in horse racing as the Belmont Stakes takes place at Saratoga Race Course and not Belmont Park. Yes, I did say Saratoga! It’s a two-year commitment while Belmont goes through a major renovation project. Another significant change is the race distance will be 1 1/4 miles instead of the traditional 1 1/2 miles because Saratoga can’t accommodate the longer distance.

Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan and Preakness winner Seize The Grey are both here, but I don’t particularly like either’s chances to win. I believe it’s Sierra Leone time, who ran second to Mystik Dan in the Derby but actually ran a faster race. In Sierra Leone’s short five-race career, he’s compiled three wins and two second-place finishes (both by a nose). His running style is to come from far off the pace so I’m hopeful that his jockey Flavien Prat times the late move correctly.
