Belmont Stakes Day Handle Rises 6.3% From 2023

The June 8 Belmont Stakes day card—conducted at Saratoga Race Course for the first time and highlighted by Dornoch ‘s victory in the 156th running $2 million Belmont Stakes (G1)—generated all-sources handle of $125,748,941, a New York Racing Association record for a Belmont card in a non-Triple Crown year.

The figure is an increase of more than 6.3% over the previous non-Triple Crown record of $118,283,455, set in 2023 when the event took place at its usual home at Belmont Park. The four-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival was moved to Saratoga Race Course this year due to ongoing construction at Belmont.

On-track handle for the 14-race card, which included six grade 1 races among nine total stakes, was $14,854,311. A sellout crowd of 50,000 was on hand.

All-sources handle for the Belmont Stakes itself reached $60,904,557.
