Beckett Sennecke could be an intriguing draft option for the Anaheim Ducks

Oshawa Generals’ forward Beckett Sennecke might be an intriguing top pick in this Friday’s NHL Entry Draft.

Ranked No. 14 in Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis’ final Top 100 NHL Draft Prospects, Sennecke had 42 points in his last 34 regular-season games with the Generals, making him one of the most productive draft prospects in the OHL.

The 6-foot-2 prospect finished 2023-24 with 27 goals and 41 assists for 68 points, and scored 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 16 playoff games during the Generals’ run to the OHL Championship final.

Originally expected to be a late first-round pick before last season, Sennecke continued to grow and develop, eventually creeping into the first half of the draft rankings, and now could potentially go as high as No. 3 on Friday night.

On Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk, live from Las Vegas, Nev., for the NHL Draft, are joined by Ellis to discuss how Sennecke could look in a Ducks’ uniform.

Frank Seravalli: Let’s play a little game. Macklin Celebrini at No. 1, Artyom Levshunov at No. 2, then the Anaheim Ducks are at No. 3. The intel I have say it’s not a defenseman, it’s not Ivan Demidov, and it’s not Cayden Lindstrom.

So that leaves, by my count, Sennecke, Berkley Catton and Tij Iginla. Who are the Ducks selecting at No. 3?

Steven Ellis: There are a lot of rumblings that it’s gonna be Sennecke, and that’s a guy to be betting on big time because no one had him that high early in the season but he’s continuing to grow. I remember watching him when he was 5-foot-8, and he’s 6-foot-2 now, and he can crush players.

Could you imagine him and Mason McTavish playing together on the Ducks and crushing guys?
