A Texas-based bathtub and shower manufacturer is planning to close its facility in Three Rivers, Michigan, just 15 miles north of the Indiana border.

American Bath Group, which does business as Aquatic Co., says the closure will result in the layoffs of 101 employees.

In a notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the company did not provide a reason for the closure, but noted that it is expected to be permanent.

The layoffs are slated to take place of a two-week period from July 14-27.

The majority of the affected workers are listed as production and manufacturing positions. The employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights.

The facility is located at 888 West Broadway Street in Three Rivers, which is located about 50 miles northeast of South Bend.
