Ayaka Furue Takes Lead in Rolex ANNIKA Major Award Standings with Amundi Evian Championship Victory | LPGA | Ladies Professional Golf Association

EVIAN-LES-BAINES, France (July 14, 2024) – In her 17th start of the 2024 Tour season, Ayaka Furue earned her maiden major championship victory at The Amundi Evian Championship and is now eligible to win the 2024 Rolex ANNIKA Major Award.

With her win at The Amundi Evian Championship, Furue earns 60 points in the 2024 Rolex ANNIKA Major Award standings to bring her total through the first four major championships on the LPGA Tour to 70. Furue first earned 10 points with her tie for sixth result at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally. This year’s other major champions – Nelly Korda (The Chevron Championship), Yuka Saso (U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally) and Amy Yang (KPMG Women’s PGA Championship) – sit behind Furue in the standings in a tie for second (60 points) with one major remaining, the AIG Women’s Open.

Furue made an eagle on the 18th hole at Evian Resort Golf Club to shoot a final-round 65 and finish one shot ahead of 54-hole leader Stephanie Kyriacou. She earned her second LPGA Tour victory with her win at The Amundi Evian Championship and her first since the 2022 Women’s Scottish Open. The victory also makes her Japan’s fourth woman major champion, joining Chako Higuchi, Hinako Shibuno and Yuka Saso.

The Rolex ANNIKA Major Award recognizes the player who, during the current LPGA Tour season, has the most outstanding record in all five major championships. Points will be awarded at all five major championships to competitors who finish among the top 10 and ties. In order to earn the award by year’s end, a player must win at least one of the five major titles.

The winner of the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award will be announced following the conclusion of the AIG Women’s Open and will be honored in November at the Rolex LPGA Awards at the CME Group Tour Championship.
