ATP Wimbledon Best Bets Including Vesely vs Pouille

ATP Wimbledon qualifications

Gaston – Prizmic: 26.06.2024 12:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0

Hugo Gaston has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Ilkley, Gaston lost in the first round against Barrios Vera. Just a week before that, Gaston won the challenger title in Lyon. Here at Wimbledon, Gaston won in the first qualifying round against Mochizuki in straight sets. Hugo served well, and played great under pressure, saving all five breakpoints. Gaston is a solid clay court player, but he never had any remarkable results on grass courts. Last year at Wimbledon, Gaston lost in the second qualifying round against Billy Harris.

Dino Prizmic has lost three of his last five matches. Earlier this season, Prizmic got injured and missed some time on the court. He looks fit at the moment, and we believe that he is 100% ready. This was his first grass court tournament of the season. In the first qualifying round, Prizmic defeated Tabur in straight sets. Besides playing in the boys’ tournament in 2022, this will be the first professional grass court tournament for him. Being so young and inexperienced on grass, this will be a tough challenge for Dino to overcome.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Gaston never had any big results on grass. However, he is way more experienced grass court player than Prizmic, and we believe that his experience will prevail in this match.

That being said, Gaston winning is a value bet.

Pouille – Vesely: 26.06.2024 13:30 CEST
H2H: 2-3

Lucas Pouille has won four of his last five matches. After losing at the qualifying tournament at the French Open, Pouille has not played any competitive matches since then. Here at Wimbledon, Pouille dominated against Pinnington Jones in the first qualifying round. Lucas lost only three games in that match. Pouille is a solid grass court player, but the injuries ruined his career. Last year at Wimbledon, Pouille reached the last qualifying round at Wimbledon where he retired mid-match, after being one set up against Machac.

Jiri Vesely has lost four of his last five matches. Last week, Vesely played the challenger tournament in Sassuolo on clay, where he lost against Buse in the first round. The injuries also ruined his career as well. Yesterday, Vesely won here in London in his first qualifying match against Mayot. Vesely played aggressive tennis, hitting 32 winners with 36 unforced errors. Last year, Vesely reached the second round at Wimbledon where he lost against O´Connell in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Pouille is the slight favorite in this matchup. We expect a very tight match, with many free points on the serve. Both players are great servers, and terrible returners. At the beginning of the tournament, the surface is very fast.

That being said, over games is a value bet.
