ATP Halle Best Bets Including Medvedev vs Zhang

ATP 500 Halle 1/8-Finals

Eubanks – Bublik: 19.06.2024 15:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Chris Eubanks has lost four of his last five matches. Now that the clay court part of the season is over, we believe that Eubanks will get back to his winning runs. Last week, Eubanks lost in the first round of the ATP Stuttgart against Nakashima in straight sets. Here in Halle, Chris won against Martinez in the first round easily in straight sets. Eubanks served 12 aces with 2 double faults. Last year in Halle, Eubanks lost in the first round against Hurkacz in three sets. After that, Eubanks won the ATP tournament in Mallorca on grass and went on to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, where he lost against Medvedev in five tough sets.

Alexander Bublik has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Bublik reached the quarterfinals in Stuttgart where he retired mid-match against Musetti. Here in Halle, Bublik won in the first round against Purcell in straight sets. Bublik played great under pressure. Last year, Bublik won the title here in Halle, winning against Rublev in the final. En route to the final, Bublik won against Coric, Struff, Sinner and Alexander Zverev.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Eubanks is the underdog in this matchup. Looking at his grass court performances, we believe that he might be a dark horse in this tournament. Bublik is the defending champion here, but his form is not as good as it was last year.

That being said, Eubanks covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Medvedev – Zhang: 19.06.2024 15:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0

Daniil Medvedev has won four of his last five matches. This will be his first grass court tournament of the season. Two weeks ago, Medvedev lost against de Minaur in the 1/8 Final at the French Open. Here in Halle, Medvedev won against Borges in tight straight sets. Daniil was a break down in the first set and had to save a set point. However, once he adapted to the surface, everything looked better for Medvedev. Last year in Halle, Medvedev reached the quarterfinals in Halle where he lost against Bautista-Agut.

Zhizhen Zhang has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Stuttgart, Zhang lost against Koepfer in three tight sets. Here in Halle, Zhang won his first round match yesterday against Ofner in three tight sets. Zhang served 23 aces without offering any breakpoints. It was an almost perfect serving display from the Chinese. Last year in Halle, Zhang lost in the qualifying tournament against Wessels.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Zhang is a huge underdog in this matchup. Looking at his first round match and his huge serve, we believe that he will keep this match very tight. We expect him to win many easy points on his serve.

That being said, Zhang covering the games handicap is a value bet.
