The opening of the transfer window is just days away and it is set to be a pivotal couple of months for Arsenal.

The Gunners will hope to strengthen their squad ahead of launching another challenge to topple Manchester City. Mikel Arteta and co have fallen agonisingly short two seasons in a row but plan to kick on once again.

Last summer saw major additions in Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, and the north London side could yet plot for more major additions. Edu appears to have his eye on landing a forward this summer but there also could be players heading in the opposite direction.

With all of that said, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the biggest stories surrounding Arsenal in the days before the transfer window opens.

Dominic Solanke price-tag

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke could leave the Cherries should the south coast side receive an offer of £65million, according to reports. Arsenal are believed to be an interested party in acquiring the former Liverpool and Chelsea’s forward’s signature, as they consider their forward options this summer..

Solanke netted 21 times in 2023/24 in an impressive season under Andoni Iraola. The 26-year-old signed for Bournemouth in 2019 for an intial fee of £19m. Liverpool are said to have a clause that would see them earn 20 per cent of any profit the Cherries make from a sale.

Arsenal target set for visit

While a great deal of emphasis will be placed on the Gunners’ first team, Arsenal are also looking to ensure they have the best youth prospects. St Johnstone defender Callan Hamill has caught the eye of the north London side and been handed permission by his club to visit Arsenal’s facilities per the Daily Record.

Hamill will make the trip to be shown around Arsenal’s academy and train too. St Johnstone are said to remain keen for him to sign professional forms next year.
