Arsenal are closing in on their first signing of the summer window with Riccardo Calafiori set for a move to North London but rumours persist around Martin Zubimendi, Nuno Tavares and Oleksandr Zinchenko
Arsenal are set to kick off their summer transfer in style with a major deal.
The Gunners are close to sealing the signing of Bologna and Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori. His arrival is certainly a sign of intent from the North London side after his starring performances at Euro 2024.
While incomings are certainly on the agenda at the Emirates, there could also be some exits. The Gunners need to ensure they remain within the Premier League ’s financial rules.

Arsenal dealt Zubimendi blow
Arsenal will NOT be signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this summer, according to the midfielder. He has announced his intent to stay with the Spanish side in the immediate future.
Speaking to El Diario Vasco, via ED, he said: “Where am I going to play next season? I’m going to be at Real Sociedad. I have a contract with Real Sociedad and that’s where I’m most comfortable.”
Zubimendi, 25, has three years remaining on his contract with Sociedad. He has been linked with Arsenal on a number of occasions in the past. Barcelona are also thought to be admirers.

Zinchenko sends message
Arsenal utility man Oleksandr Zinchenko has sent his congratulations to one of the biggest Premier League transfers of the summer. The Ukrainian sent a message to Max Kilman after his move from Wolves to West Ham.
Taking to Instagram, Kilman wrote: “Can’t wait to get started, hard work starts now.” Zinchenko then replied: “All the best brother.”
Kilman has completed a £40m move to the London Stadium. He becomes the Hammers’ third signing of the summer after the prior arrivals of Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham from Palmeiras and Sheffield United respectively.
Tavares confirms Arsenal plan
Nuno Tavares has confirmed that he wants to return to Arsenal this summer in an effort to impress Mikel Arteta. Speaking to Portuguese outlet Record, he said: “Yes, obviously, I have in mind to return to Arsenal and have a good pre-season.
“Regardless of what happens in the future, I will always do my best, as I have done in all pre-seasons, to have a place at the club.”
Tavares was signed from Benfica in 2021 and has just a year remaining on his contract. He spent last season with Nottingham Forest but made just 12 appearances in all competitions.
