Armed Kitchener home invasion leads to arrest of one man, police continue to investigate


A home invasion in Kitchener has led to the arrest of one man, but police are still searching for two other suspects.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, it happened on May 26 at around 6 a.m. at a home in the area of Joseph St.

Three men forced their way into a home armed with a firearm and bear spray. Three people were inside the home when the men entered, but no physical injuries were reported in the incident

On Thursday, police completed a search warrant of another residence on Joseph St., seized a pellet gun, and arrested a 28-year-old man from Kitchener in connection with the home invasion.

He was charged with break-and-enter, robbery with a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators believe it was a targeted incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
