Angelina Jolie Looks Like an Elegant Greek Statue at the Tony Awards
Angelina Jolie has arrived to the 77th annual Tony Awards.
The star hit the red carpet with her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne, who helped her mother produce the Broadway show The Outsiders. The musical, based on the young adult novel and film of the same name, is nominated for 12 Tony awards. It featured music from the folk duo Jamestown Revival.
Jolie and her daughter coordinated outfits for the special event, opting to match in teal outfits. Angelina wore a stunning velvet gown from Versace that ruched at the bust and waist, giving the actor a Greek statue effect. Jolie styled the strapless dress with a matching velvet shawl, which hung loosely off her shoulders and draped down at her elbows and wrists.
She complemented the dark aquamarine look with gold rings, matching teal bracelets, and a large silver bangle bracelet from Alexis Bittar. At her bust, just where the neckline of her gown dipped down into a cowl, she seemed to show off a metallic gold temporary tattoo in the shape of a dove. Small gold hoops finished off her elegant look.
Angelina wore her highlighted brown hair down in a simple blowout, and opted for her usual makeup look of smokey brown eyeshadow, dark eyeliner, and a pink gloss. As she walked down the red carpet, she held her daughter’s hand.
Vivienne went for a more casual look in a cyan set. The young producer wore a white button-down shirt layered under a teal vest, which she paired with a matching set of slacks. A blue bowtie pulled her look together as she finished off her ensemble with black Converse sneakers. She opted to be credited in the Playbill as “Vivienne Jolie,” rather than her previous “Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.”
She joins her older sister Shiloh in dropping her father’s surname. Just earlier this month—in fact, on her 18th birthday—Shiloh filed legal paperwork requesting the legal name change. Zahara, one of the former couple’s adopted children, has also been going only by Zahara Jolie (sans Pitt). In a recent performance for her college sorority, she introduced herself without her hyphenated surname, and simply went by “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
