Andres Iniesta sends message to Xavi as he leaves his job as Barcelona boss

Andres Iniesta has sent a message to his good friend and former midfield partner Xavi as he leaves his job as Barcelona manager.

Xavi has said goodbye after a two-and-a-half-year stint that saw Barca win the league last season and the Spanish Super Cup.

The ex-midfielder has also brought a host of youngsters into the first team including the likes of Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi and Hector Fort.

Iniesta is clear his old mate has done a good job for the Catalans as he posted on X: “Good job buddy. Surely we will see you again on the bench soon!”

Xavi’s plans for the future aren’t entirely clear. He’s said he wants to take a rest first and hasn’t ruled out a return to Barcelona at some point in the future.

Iniesta has also previously talked up a potential future in coaching once he finally hangs up his boots.
