Ally Financial launches new fan experiences for U.S. Women’s Open designed to uplift women’s golf
After announcing a partnership with the USGA, Ally Financial continues to make good on their promise to invest in women’s sports with their launch of three new fan experiences at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open.
“The product of women’s sports has not just gotten good, it has been good for decades,” says Stephanie Marciano, head of sports and entertainment marketing at Ally Financial. “And we, as an industry, are finally meeting the moment.”
During Wednesday’s practice round, Ally Financial hosted “Golf with US,” a women’s golf clinic where local female collegiate athletes received golf instruction from Lancaster Country Club’s teching staff. In addition to receiving professional instruction, the female athletes were also introduced to women who have made golf an asset in their lives.
“Think about the amount of business that gets done out on the golf course,” Marciano says. “We want to put golf clubs in these athletes’ hands in hopes that it will help advance their professional careers.”
Ally also launched a brand new free-to-play game in partnership with the USGA called “Fantasy Flip,” that can be found in the USGA App. In the game, fans build their own teams by opening player packs. Each player is awarded points based on their performance in the event and the fans who score the most points will win prizes including two tickets to the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills and USGA shop gift cards.
While the experience is launching for the U.S. Women’s Open, it will be available for fans to play during other USGA championship events.
And for all the gamers out there, Ally is also activating in Fortnite for the tournament. With help from the USGA, Ally created an immersive golf-related experience within Ally Arena in Fortnite. Based on the concept of “The Ultimate Golf Speed Run,” gamers will race through a challenging course scattered with golf-related obstacles and players with the fastest times will receive a chance to win cash prizes. The experience is set to launch Thursday, during the first round of competition.
