Al Radhi is crowned 140km ride champion


HORSERACING – Royal Endurance Team rider Salman Isa Al Radhi was crowned champion of the 140-kilometre ride at the Compiegne international endurance meeting in France.

Al Radhi, who is also a member of Victorious Racing owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was competing on his horse Freesia De Lap Aa.

They took the victory in the CEI star-level three event with a 22-second gap ahead of runner-up Sabrina Arnold of Germany, riding Gazoline Des Venelles. Paul Bard from France came third on Ainhoa Saltarina, 12 minutes and 30 seconds behind Al Radhi.

Bahraini rider Abdulwahab Abdulla Alotaibi joined Al Radhi in the top eight. Saddling his horse Zerzour Can Rocas, Al Otaibi completed the race distance 54 minutes and five seconds behind his triumphant compatriot. The meeting in Compiegne, an event under the Federation Equestre Internationale, also features races in other distances, with other Royal Endurance Team and Victorious Racing members taking part.
