AARP holds Fashion Fundraiser for Scholarships
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Sunday, the River Bend Nature Center was abuzz with excitement as the community gathered for a fashion show fundraiser hosted by the AARP. The event marked the return of the highly anticipated fashion show, held for the first time since the pandemic.
First Alert Meteorologist, Jaden Knowles, was a model in the event. The nights theme? “Safaria” with designs from Dress Unique Boutique. The vibrant and culturally inspired collection featured vintage and African styles, some crafted by organizer Wilma Bynum.
Bynum expressed her pride in her team’s efforts, stating “I work with a group of a lot of good people. It was not hard to present a fashion show this year, and we’re looking forward to having another one next year.”
The event was attended by approximately 150 people, all coming together to support a noble cause. All proceeds from the fashion show will go towards college scholarships for local high school students, providing financial assistance to the community’s youth.
