New AAIP Updates: The Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), officially known as the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), made 2 important guideline changes.

These AAIP updates confirmed that the province will resume accepting applications under the Alberta Opportunity Stream on June 11.

Furthermore, the program provided more clarity with new guidelines to manage nomination targets and processing times for 2024 in the context of the annual PNP allocation by the Canadian government.

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) annual nominations quota for 2024 is 9,750 nominations.

This is the maximum number of provincial nomination certificates that can be issued this year.

The Premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith, wrote a letter to Justin Trudeau in March 2024 to increase the provincial nomination quotas, but it seems like she has not received any positive response yet.

The province has already issued 4,337 nominations under various streams of AAIP as of May 29.

So the province is now organizing the rest of the nominations for the below-listed streams in almost equal numbers among the remaining 7 months in 2024.

Furthermore, only a set number of applications will be accepted into the pool of the above-listed streams or pathways on a monthly basis, as listed below.

The stream or pathway will stop accepting new applications into the pool once the monthly target is reached for that particular stream or pathway, until the next month’s opening date.

AAIP updates the targets below on their official website for the next 7 months.
