The remains of an unknown First World War soldier will begin lying in state at Confederation Building today.
The remains will arrive at Confederation Building this morning at around 10:45.
The casket will be removed from the hearse by the pallbearers and carried up the steps of Confederation Building.
A Canadian Armed Forces Padre will lead the procession with Premier Andrew Furey, who is the next of kin for the Unknown Soldier, following behind.
Once inside there will be a closed ceremony in which the casket will be dressed, and the Premier and other invited guests will have a moment to pay their respects.
Public visitation begins this afternoon.
Members of the public will enter through one door of Confederation Building to file past the casket, and then back out through another door.
Visition times are 1:30 to 7:30 this afternoon, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, and 8 to 9:30 Sunday morning, and again from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 in the afternoon.
Ceremonies related to the internment of the remains will begin at the National War Memorial at 9:30 Monday morning.
