BKKBN: Online Gambling Has Implications For Families

Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Hasto Wardoyo said online gambling has implications for families and has the potential to cause conflict.

“Online gambling has implications for the family. Today is the highest divorce because there are prolonged small quarrels and gambling, I am sure, causing quarrels in the family,” said Hasto in an official statement in Jakarta, Thursday, June 27, which was confiscated by Antara.

Previously, the Deputy for Prosperous Family and Family Empowerment of the Nopian BKKBN Family, Andusti, also said that the family is the closest social system that can supervise and foster members not to play online gambling.

“Families are a social system that is closest to us. Fostering, educating, guiding, it started with the family. Families must always remind their family members not to get closer to negative actions or activities, one of which is online gambling,” said Nopian.

In addition, said Nopian, online gambling also harms families in addition to harming the perpetrators of gambling themselves.

“Surely the gambling will damage yourself or your family. No one is successful because of gambling, no one is rich because of gambling, no one is prosperous because of gambling,” he said.
