Pau Cubarsí, Eric Garcia and Fermín López off to Olympics

The Olympic Games in Paris will see three representatives from FC Barcelona in the men’s football tournament. Pau Cubarsí, Fermin López and Eric Garcia, who returns after a loan spell at Girona, have been included in the Spain squad by coach Santi Denia. The football tournament will take place between 24 July and 9 August in France. 

Spain’s first game takes place on 24 July in Paris against Uzbekistan in the Parc des Princes, a venue where Cubarsí and Fermín recently featured for Barça in the Champions League against PSG. 

The team’s second and third group games will take place in Bordeaux and will see Spain take on the Dominican Republic on 27 July and Egypt on 30 July. If the Spanish national side make it out of the group then they will face opponents from group D (Japan, Paraguay, Mali and Israel) in either Marseille or Lyon on 2 or 3 August.
