Pistons hiring Mavericks’ Dennis Lindsey as VP of basketball operations, per ESPN report
The Detroit Pistons and their new president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon are hiring from the Mavericks’ front office.
Dennis Lindsey is set to join Detroit’s front office as senior vice president of basketball operations, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Lindsey, who played guard at Baylor for four seasons (1988-92), served in an advisory role under Mavericks GM Nico Harrison during the 2023-24 season. He was one of the finalists for the job Langdon ultimately received, and now will work in a top role in the Pistons’ front office under Langdon.
Langdon and Lindsey previously spent seasons working together with the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and Utah Jazz. Lindsey most notably was the GM of the Utah Jazz from 2012-2021 before becoming the executive vice president of basketball operations in Utah from 2021-2023. His role in constructing the Jazz teams led by Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert made him an attractive name as a basketball executive.
