GCI ‘A’ lift SPCT U-12 cricket title – Times of India

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Cricket Institute (GCI) ‘A’ won the SPCT U-12 Cricket Tournament by beating SPCT ‘A’ in a one-sided final here on Monday. Put into bat first after losing the toss, GCI ‘A’ piled up a massive 287 for three in 40 overs. Yuvaansh Jain was virtually unstoppable as he scored an unbeaten 97 off 52 balls, with Samarth Patel (61 off 53 balls) playing a perfect foil. SPCT’s Heer Thakkar and Hridhan Roy took one wicket each. SPCT ‘A’ batters found the target too stiff and were bundled out for 108 in 34.1 overs, with only Riaan Patel (29) and Rishik Raja (21) putting up some fight, losing by 179 runs. Yaksh Shah was the wrecker-in-chief as he took four for 10. Samarth took two for 13 and was named man of the match for his allround performance.
