It is safe to say that this is his favorite surface.

The last match that he played was at the French Open, where he lost against Musetti in the second round. He has not played a competitive match on grass since 2021. His last match on grass court was at Wimbledon in 2021, where he lost against Pablo Martinez in four sets. Monfils never had any remarkable results on grass.

Dominic Thiem has lost three of his last five matches. After he was not given a wildcard, Thiem tried to qualify for the main draw of the French Open. Unfortunately, Dominic lost in the second qualifying round against Virtanen in straight sets. Earlier this year, Thiem announced that this would be his final season as a tennis player. His last competitive match on grass was last year at Wimbledon, where he lost in the first round against Tsitsipas in five tough sets.

According to the bookies, Monfils is the favorite in this matchup. Looking at their current form, both players are struggling a lot. The grass court surface is also their least favorite one. We expect a low-quality match that could go on each side.
