Agent Motria Dzulynsky often stages properties with complementary artwork by Marlene Klassen, but this time she was selling the artist’s own home – a four-bedroom house one kilometre east of Islington Golf Club. Two visitors presented offers a week after its launch, with one being marginally better at $1,200 over the asking price.

“It sold faster than some properties on the market, but it was also a good house with a lot going for it,” said Ms. Dzulynsky.

“A lot of the art was the owner’s and it gave the house a spirit and a soul.”

What they got

This two-storey house was custom built in 2006 with a brick and stone façade, arched windows and a portico, as well as an attached garage.

Inside, there is 3,750 square feet of living space, including two offices and four bedrooms with walk-in closets and either private or semi-private bathrooms.

There are 10-foot ceilings in the two entertaining areas, the dining room and eat-in kitchen. The kitchen island has bar seating and double doors to a stone patio, hot tub, gazebo and gardens.

“It’s a family-friendly neighbourhood,” Ms. Dzulynsky said.

“It was a big house on a very good street.”

The grounds on the 60- by 122-foot lot also didn’t disappoint. “It had a very nice south-facing yard that was landscaped,” said Ms. Dzulynsky.
