The week-long search for an inmate who escaped from the West Coast Correctional Centre in Stephenville came to an end Friday night.
RCMP say 31-year-old Tyler Bennett was arrested and 36-year-old Pam Crocker, who was believed to have been with him, was found safe and sound.
The arrest came exactly one week after Bennett made his short-lived dash for freedom.
Police have not released any details regarding the arrest or where Bennett was found, nor have they said how he managed to escape in the first place.
He’s now back in custody awaiting his next court date which is set for St. John’s on Tuesday.
Bennett faces several robbery charges, as well as new charges related to the escape.
