Toyota to Add More Than 400 Jobs in Texas
SAN ANTONIO—Toyota is investing $531 million to expand its assembly plant here. The project will add a new 500,000-square-foot facility for the production of drivetrain parts, and it will create more than 400 new jobs.
Toyota’s Texas assembly plant has been producing trucks and SUVs for nearly two decades. It assembled more than 181,000 vehicles last year. Toyota’s total investment in the plant has grown to more than $4.7 billion.
This investment will also reinforce the plant’s flexibility by adding advanced manufacturing technologies.
Toyota Texas currently produces the Tundra truck and hybrid Sequoia SUV. Both vehicles are assembled on the same production line.
